Two distinct types of business came to the fore over the last year

Two distinct types of business came to the fore over the last year, A) those that pivoted and innovated and, B) those that carried on doing what they always do. Which meant there were a lot of business owners trudging along with their head down, hoping it will all blow over.

When the world goes to hell in a handbasket, it’s easy to say, “success is out of our control” and not make a new plan for growth, as I know only too well.

Although there was no pandemic involved, my business partner and I very nearly lost everything through fear of taking action a few years ago. Fortunately, we were able to turn things around and grow the business again. Watching so many people struggle during COVID made me reflect on the common things that hold us back when it comes to taking our companies to the next level.

Those thoughts turned to notes, then sentences, paragraphs, chapters and finally a whole book called Scaling Your Business in Unpredictable Times, in which I cover the ten blind spots business owners must confront in order to grow.

Yes, I accidentally wrote a book during COVID. Has it been a productive period for you?
