Darth Vader of The Empire As A Quick Case Study

As an EOS Implementer, I help leadership teams gain the clarity, focus, and skillset required to drive their business forward. As it’s Star Wars Day today (May the 4th be with you), I thought we’d look at Darth Vader of The Empire as a quick case study.

The Entrepreneurial System (EOS) improves leadership teams in three areas:

– Vision: Getting everyone 100% on the same page
– Traction: Instilling focus, discipline, and accountability throughout the company
– Healthy: Helping leaders become a more cohesive, functional, healthy leadership team

It’s fair to say that everyone in Darth Vader’s organisation understood the Vision. Even the lowliest Stormtrooper knew the mission was to crush the Rebels and seize control of the Galaxy.

Darth and his leadership team also excelled at the Traction part. Nothing keeps people focused like a ‘Force choke’ when things don’t go right.

Unfortunately, ruling by fear meant the Healthy element was non-existent. Companies flourish and grow when they encourage a culture where anyone can call out issues. That just wasn’t Darth Vader’s way… and the rest is fictional history.
